Sarah Ellis - Podiatrist

Sarah Ellis

MSc, BSc (hons), MChS (Musculoskeletal Podiatrist)

Sarah works full time in clinics across Winchester, Andover and Basingstoke as a Musculoskeletal podiatrist and for Reading Hockey Club. She currently plays hockey herself at Premier league level for Clifton Robinsons and has played internationally at senior level. She also participates in the UK Women’s League for Southampton Athletics Club where she competes in javelin, and previously was a member of the England Junior ski race team.

Sarah understands the frustrations of injury, and it was this that inspired her to become a podiatrist and help sports people in this position. Previously, Sarah worked as a Science teacher. This has given her a keen interest in musculoskeletal disorders in children, which she pursued with a summer spent volunteering in Malawi, in clubfoot and cerebral palsy clinics, working with babies and children.

Sarah treats people of all ages and activity levels, and specialises in sporting injuries, prescribing custom made orthotics and acupuncture of the foot and lower leg.

(Paul Harradine)

Paul opened The Podiatry Centre in 2004, after working as a private practitioner and clinical specialist within the NHS locally for 10 years.

In 1998 Paul obtained a post graduate certificate in Sports Podiatry and in 2000 a Masters Degree in Sports Injury and Therapy. Combined with a CertEd from Portsmouth University, he spent a short period lecturing at Southampton University before concentrating on clinical application and post graduate lecturing.

Paul was awarded a fellowship to the faculty of Podiatric Medicine in 2012 and also became a fellow of the faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow the same year. He is presently in his second year as a part-time doctoral student at the university of Southampton.

Clinically, Paul works solely within Biomechanics and musculoskeletal podiatry. Having prescribed more than 10,000 pairs of custom foot orthotics (over 7,500 of which were made in his own laboratory) he see patients of all ages and all activity levels. A full time clinician, Paul also has a strong academic background lecturing on the international conference circuit and publishing papers in Podiatric, Physiotherapy and Orthopaedic journals.

Paul Harradine

Ross Diaper

Once fully qualified he decided to continue his studies working towards a master?s degree in the theory of podiatric surgery covering a range of modules specific to podiatric practice. He obtained an MSc with distinction in 2013 after completing his research project investigating measures of foot posture used in biomechanical assessments.

Ross has worked in the NHS since qualifying gaining a range of experience in all aspects of Podiatry. He was the nail surgery lead in Portsmouth before taking on a full time role in the specialist musculoskeletal service where he currently works a clinical specialist Podiatrist as well as having recently started here at the Podiatry Centre.

Simon Collins

Simon gained his degree in Podiatry in 2000 from Southampton University. Initially he worked in the NHS locally and later became an Extended Scope Podiatrist working in specialist orthopaedic Foot and Ankle clinics and also knee clinics. This post had a key training and lecturing role and Simon teaches regularly to local podiatry and physiotherapy groups. His work has led to close ties with specialist knee and back physiotherapists.

Beth Norris

Beth has spent the last 8 years working within private practice on the South Coast. Her scope of work is varied including diabetic foot care and assessment, nail Surgery, biomechanics, musculoskeletal podiatry and prescribing and constructing custom made orthotics.

Having worked at The Podiatry Centre for over the last 7 years she has had the opportunities to learn under the guidance of Paul Harradine and sees patients with a wide range of clinical problems. With these new skills Beth has set up a weekly clinic at Best Practice South as a subsidiary of the Podiatry Centre.

Gareth Klepacz

Qualifying in 2003 from the University of Southampton he commenced a post graduate programme to work in the area of clinical biomechanics, and has worked exclusively in this area since this time. He has provided local orthopaedic triage services for the health service, was clinical lead for biomechanics and for a time was chair for the regional expert reference group for biomechanics.

Gareth treats people of all ages and activity levels, and specialises in sporting injuries. His area of specialist interest is running injury, having trained and competed in track, road and cross country distance running for 25 years. Gareth has run internationally and still competes for Southampton athletics club.

Chris Webb

Clinically, Chris combines his skills with a majority of his work based in biomechanics and musculoskeletal sports podiatry, but does treat all aspects of lower limb musculoskeletal injuries within the Hampshire and West Wessex area. This has involved prescribing several thousand pairs of orthoses and ankle braces, which are mostly made in our clinics based Orthoses Laboratory. As a full time clinician Chris has worked since 2007 within the Premier League to conference league Football set up and continues to do so. This is also combined with a some routine care and nail surgery.
