Vest Harness
The vest harness is made from a highly breathable 100% recycled polyester air mesh. This helps heat escape when working hard and is comfortable next to your body.
We've worked on creating a vest harness that is carefully shaped to not sit too-closely to the neck - an area that can sometimes cause discomfort.
This was an area of improvement we identified during our research and testing phase and is especially important to ensure our vest packs are comfortable for both male and female body shapes.
Bottles and pockets
We have partnered with Hydrapak® and are including 2x 500ml soft flasks with the Solus 5L vest pack. These are the best soft bottles available, with high-flow bite valves ensuring you get the hydration you need to perform at your best.
The bottles are secured in position with a retainer loop that prevents them from slipping down into the pocket as the liquid is consumed so they are always within easy reach when you need them.
For the chest pockets, we have recycled polyamide mesh with elastane. This offers a high level of stretch and great long term durability.
Pockets can easily stretch to accommodate gloves, snacks and any item you need quick access to, while helping to control bounce as you run for great stability.
One chest pocket features a zipper, making the perfect place to stow your phone.
We've used a zip with plastic teeth here - this is to prevent sweat corrosion from seizing the zip - a problem that can happen with standard coil type zippers.
To make the most of the available space, we have upper tuck pockets on the front shoulder area, ideal for stowing a couple of energy gels.
Sternum straps
The sternum strap uses elasticated cord with an adjustable hook on one side. This offers an intuitive way of gaining the perfect fit with easy adjustment on the go.
The elastic strap ensures the vest pack can be carried comfortably without restricting chest expansion as you breath.
The chest strap can be repositioned to suit different body shapes for a custom fit.
Binding
On the edge of the Harness straps, we have a soft-to-the-touch Lycra binding on all edges for a comfortable fit.
We’ve used zig-zag stitching as this allows the mesh fabrics to stretch and conform to the body.
We use recycled polyamide mesh fabric on the underarm area to keep the vest pack snug against the user for a close, stable fit.
Back of the vest
Upper stash pocket is accessed from the top, this is perfect place to stow a jacket that can be reached without the need to stop.
Here we use our ultralight and stretchy Aeroweave fabric. This is a recycled polyester with elastane for great stretch and recovery. This fabric features what is called a melting yarn, and this enables a mesh like structure to be formed during the manufacturing process which allows for complete airflow.
The stretch inherent in this fabric helps keep the pocket contents close to your back for great stability.
The generously sized stretchy lower Stash pocket is the perfect place to stow additional layers and can be accessed from either side. Here we use our recycled polyamide mesh
Pole carry
With the Solus 5, we've included the ability to carry poles
Elastic straps are included to stow poles horizontally on the lower back of pack, perfect if you need to free your hands or quickly deploy your poles when extra stability is required.
These straps can be removed if not required.
